1. This distro uses  GoldenDict  to provide  dictionary functionality.
"dictd" was added  primarily to get  "dictzip" and "dictunzip",  which
are utilities that can be used  to facilitate the creation of StarDict
dictionaries, which are supported by GoldenDict.

1. The source tarball used by this package has been renamed.

2. As of December 2006, it appeared that the version of "dictd" hosted
on the official home page had been abandoned.  Debian was hosting what
seemed to be a newer version,  and this distro adopted the Debian ver-
sion.
