# numpy-py3/cfg - "Build" settings for package

[technotes]

1. The source tarball used by this  package was created based on "git"
upstream sources. The following command was used:

      ocgitfetch --run \
--checkout=v2.4.3 \
--deletegit \
https://github.com/numpy/numpy.git

2. It's  difficult to build this package without permitting online ac-
cess. So, the build procedure is fragile and updates are highly likely
to break it.

3. Updates to  this  package may  necessitate  updates to  one or more
Python 3 packages.  In  this event, it may or  may not be necessary to
explicitly uninstall one or more of the Python 3 packages in  question
before updating them.

In Spring 2026,  this proved to be an issue for "trove-classifiers" in
particular.

4. "rembg",  a PyPi package included in this distro, should be kept in
sync with this package [numpy-py3]. I.e., the "numpy-py3" release num-
ber expected by "rembg" should match the release number that is provi-
ded by "numpy-py3".

Or  at least the expected release number shouldn't be higher  than the
actual one.
